· 10 months of circus, intensive practical and theoretical training

· The CIRCUS EDUCATION YEAR focuses on circus techniques in the areas of AERIAL, FLOOR, and JUGGLING. Regular training in the disciplines/subjects: aerial acrobatics (trapeze, ring, silks, rope), floor acrobatics/dance acrobatics, handstand training, physical preparation (classical dance, strength, flexibility, conditioning), intensive workshops depending on the group composition: juggling, hula hoop, partner and group acrobatics, Chinese pole or pole dance, Cyr wheel, contortion/flexibility, contemporary dance, urban dance, physical theater/presence training. 

· As well as theoretical seminars in the areas of body, history, music, and other genres support the continuous growth of skills and knowledge. Working on artistic expression and interpretation is an essential part of the program.

· Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (except on public holidays and selected Berlin school holidays)

· Stage routine: one showing in December and a joint final project in Berlin in the summer.

· In order to support our students individually and strengthen cooperation and mutual learning, we work in fixed groups.

· The languages of instruction are German and English. We provide extensive support to our international applicants, but also expect them to make a serious effort to learn German.

· Support with further planning your artistic career, preparing application documents, career guidance, and grant applications.

· Locations: Seneca intensive Studios Berlin Marzahn, Cabuwazi acrobatics hall - Berlin Marzahn, Lausitzer Platz acrobatics hall - Berlin Kreuzberg

· Cost: €4000 – Installment payments are possible, of course, at no additional cost. 

The EDUCATIONAL YEAR CIRCUS is divided into 5 phases.

Phase 1 - Lots of training but also theory - When the head is well filled, the body also works better and creativity can unfold to its full potential. As we consider theoretical backgrounds to be very important for circus artists, there are basic theoretical seminars

Phase 2 - build-up phase - finding a group, lots of training, dealing with the body, your own limits and possibilities... sweat, push, grow! The multi-day OPEN HOUSE, a workshop performance at the end of the year, start planning your own pieces, prepare for entrance exams as required

Phase 3 - work with directors - lots of training and the development of several stage pieces for the final performance

Phase 4 - Training, training, training! - Group-related training and rehearsals, space and time to realize own artistic projects, group trip

Phase 5 - Creation phase - In the final phase, your own pieces are developed, rehearsed and brought together with the creations of the professional directors developed in the group to create a joint full-length final performance - the KONDENSAT. Experiencing the stage together is a central component of the Educational Year Circus.
