The Company SI

The Concept

Company SI was formed in 2016 to give graduates of SENECA INTENSIV the opportunity to remain artistically connected after completing their training programmes, to develop further technically and artistically, to remain in training and to gain additional stage experience. The aim is both the consistent further development of individual artistic personalities and the use of creative and physical potential.

The company works on a project basis. From a pool of interested people, a new project team is always formed to work on different artistic elements on an overarching theme. Due to the diversity of personalities and their abilities, a wide range of artistic and pedagogical approaches can be pursued. This includes productions as well as workshops for different target groups.

The company takes the basic ideas of SENECA INTENSIV - joint artistic work in prepared structures, ongoing development, establishing networks - to another level.

The sustainable promotion of heterogeneous participants is an essential element in the work of CompanySI. Graduates of various SENECA INTENSIV formats have the opportunity to work together with external, established artists on a joint project. Artistically, the aim is to set a cross-project working theme and to approach the creation of a stage production in an interdisciplinary way with other arts.

The Company SI today

In September 2023, Company SI will start its next longer phase of work with a new permanent group of dancers. Twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday, from 4 to 7 pm, they train and rehearse together as a permanent group. Together they work on new pieces and also rediscover old works from the Seneca Intensive repertoire.

Open training

The company's open contemporary training takes place on Tuesdays, from 16:00 to 17:15, and Thursdays from 16:00 to 17:15 and is open to external guests. Participation costs 5 €.

From 24 July to 1 September we are on summer break and there will be no training.

BREATH OF WATER

"Mermaids. Naiads. Mythical creatures. What if they were real? What if they came back? "Breath of Water" explores the timeless legends of these beings, reimagining them as close to us as animals like the orangutan — intelligent, mysterious, and tied to nature. The choreography takes inspiration from myths across cultures, from Northern Europe to Southeast Asia, revealing how these beings represent a blend of human, animal, divine, and earthly elements. A pod of mermaids comes to life, blurring the lines between myth and reality, revealing the familiar within the unknown."

What keeps us busy?

Dance Challenges. Stand-up comedy. Political messages. Life Coaches. Films. Mindfulness. Podcasts. Images of war. Holiday reports. Animal videos. Excerpt follows excerpt. A never-ending flow of information, where sometimes you don't even know exactly why you're watching what you're watching. And suddenly an hour has passed and you've done nothing again. But you're supposed to get something done. But what is this "getting something done"?
