Qualification as a dance and movement educator

MOVE & TEACH is an educational programme for performing artists with a focus on teaching artistic dance movement. It offers the possibility of a comprehensive examination of the field of dance education, one's own teaching body and a holistic approach to the genre of dance. The diverse curriculum brings together artists with different artistic and personal backgrounds and promotes creative potential in pedagogical and artistic processes. The aim of this qualification is to train responsible and reflective teaching personalities who can meet the demands of contemporary movement education in diverse professional fields, who are aware of the possibilities and weighting of their later work and who can thus shape their professional lives in a sustainable way.

Graduates of MOVE & TEACH fulfil the requirements for the development, implementation and management of interdisciplinary, art-pedagogical projects, taking integrative aspects into account. They are able to develop, teach and implement professionally sound and body-appropriate lessons for diverse target and age groups, either independently or as part of a team. Thus, they make important socio-political, social and health-promoting contributions in children's, youth and adult education by means of artistic movement.

The facts at a glance:

• Full-time - Monday to Thursday, 9.00 am - 3.00 pm (except on public holidays and the Berlin school holidays - here there is time for self-study, internships, job shadowing...).
• Seminars on methodology, didactics, medicine, project management and much more.
• Target group specification.
• Teaching practice and reflection with experienced teachers.
• Own project work at the end of the program.
• Daily, changing training in the four styles contemporary dance, classical dance, urban dance and jazz/show.
• The training languages are German and English. The theoretical seminars are mainly held in German.
• 4800€ - Payment in instalments is of course possible without additional costs.
