About the project

We invite people 55+ to come together in a collective group to explore lived experience through the body through the artistic movement. Our bodies carry stories that want to be told — at every stage of life.

This isn't a fitness class or a therapeutic session — it's an artistic practice. We work with contemporary dance methodologies, choreographic research, and experimental approaches to create movement material that reflects our authentic experiences. The body, with its accumulated wisdom, physical memory, and unique relationship with time and space, provides rich terrain for creative exploration.

We experiment with improvisation, structured tasks and compositional exercises. We translate memory into gesture, sensation into sequence, personal narratives into shared artistic expression.

Participation in the IDO laboratory requires no previous dance experience, just curiosity and a willingness to explore new things.
