Institutional recognition

In 2023, SENECA INTENSIV took on a central role in supporting students who were affected by the closure of DIE ETAGE — School of Performing Arts. Following the insolvency of this traditional Berlin educational institution, SENECA INTENSIV developed solutions together with partners to enable students to complete their education and acquire their qualifications.

ETAGE cooperation

SENECA INTENSIV supported students from various subject areas in their search for alternative training paths. For the circus and drama departments, SENECA INTENSIV helped to establish new collaborations with training centers, including:

  • Cabuwazi Marzahn
  • TiB 1848 e.V.

These partnerships made it possible to continue training programs under the coordination of SENECA INTENSIV.

Recognition as a supplementary school ETAGE

As part of this process, SENECA INTENSIV successfully applied for recognition as a supplementary school in accordance with §102 of the Berlin Education Act. This state recognition allowed final year students to complete their programs and obtain their professional qualifications as:

  • State-recognized artist
  • State-recognized actor

After nine months of intensive work, the students successfully completed their training in September 2023 with the premiere of the MEANDER production. With the completion of these years, the corresponding supplementary school courses were completed. This process underlines SENECA INTENSIV's commitment to preserving artistic biographies within the performing arts.
