This seminar is aimed at participants with basic rigging knowledge and focuses on the creative, experimental and performative use of rigging methods in aerial acrobatics.

Rigging as an artistic tool: How can rigging be used dramaturgically, visually and choreographically?

Advanced rigging techniques:

  • Self-balancing
  • Classic counterweight system
  • Dynamic suspensions & moving points

Creative freedom in a safe environment:

How do you safely experiment — “What is allowed, what is possible? ”

  • Develop and discuss your own ideas and approaches
  • Practical exercises: Technical testing of systems & creative exercises with aerial acrobatic props

The workshop combines theory with lots of practical work, supplemented by:

  • Models, live demonstrations & group exercises
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Joint reflection and exchange
  • Handout with advanced tools and examples
