In HOW TO AUDITION we go through a quasi-real audition together with the elements email application (cover letter, CV and showreel) and written feedback, with 1 day of face-to-face audition. As a special gimmick, each participant receives personal feedback at the end and questions are answered.

HOW TO AUDITION is a format that makes it possible to actively experience an audition day and to deal with the associated challenges. This in a protected environment.

As a professional dancer and choreographer with company work, Julia Maria Koch @‌juliamariakoch will guide you through this workshop and the audition process. She uses her experience and feedback to convey requirements, tips and tricks. http://juliamariakoch.com

((For professional dancers, dealing with the topic of auditions is unavoidable, but it need not and should not be a topic of fear. The more you know about it, the more confident and secure your performance and your own feelings will be.

An audition day with larger international companies usually consists of a technique class (often contemporary ballet), company repertoire, a solo you bring with you and an interview.

In between, there is often a ‘sifting’ process, but some choreographers also want to see everything the dancers have to offer before making a decision.
