How do I talk about my own artistic work — clearly, concisely and convincingly? Especially at festivals, conferences or industry meetings, it is often a brief moment that determines whether interest is created and new contacts are made.

This workshop with circus and theatre maker and lecturer Felix Baumann is about the art of pitching in the context of independent performing arts. Felix shares insights from his own practice and explains how projects can be presented convincingly in professional contexts — from formal presentation formats to informal discussions.

Together, we are tackling key questions: Why are we pitching? How is a pitch structured? What should it contain — and how do I find a form of presentation that clearly conveys my artistic work and at the same time bears my own signature? It is also about sharpening one's own practice: What is my work and how do I position it in the field — dance, circus, physical theatre or performance? Who is my audience? Who is involved in production and what conditions does it entail?

In addition to practical strategies, the workshop also offers space to try things out: The participants develop pitch formats from their own projects, try out different presentation methods and receive targeted feedback. The aim is to gain confidence in speaking about one's own work and to formulate a clear, convincing narrative that makes both artistic integrity and production reality visible.

In German and English spoken language.
