The program TanzVermittung: Didaktik & Methoden teaches the essential basics of professional dance lessons. The focus is on didactic thinking, methodological diversity and the development of responsible teaching practice.

As a specialized training course for dance education, the module is aimed at dancers and artists who want to expand their dance education with well-founded teaching skills. By combining theory and guided teaching situations, you gain practical security for your own teaching right from the start.

Participants also have the option to deepen their own dance technique in dance courses during the educational year.

Course Topics

Theme 1

Didactic Approaches

We define learning objectives and analyse how content in contemporary dance is meaningfully structured and conveyed.
Topic 2

Methodological Approaches

Learn different ways to make technology, improvisation and creative processes accessible.
Topic 3

Course and Lesson Planning

Develop structures for long-term formats and individual units based on clear educational goals.
Topic 4

Project Planning

Basics for designing and communicating dance projects and workshops in the public and private sectors.
Topic 5

Personal Teaching Style

Reflecting on one's own attitude in order to find authentic access to working with different target groups.

Didactic and methodological seminars in the area of dance education and dance teaching

Additional training opportunities

Optionally, participants can take part in selected training courses during the dance education year.

These complement continuing education with additional physical practice and provide insights into further movement and teaching approaches.

Free Training in Production & Management

Participants in our programs can attend seminars and workshops free of charge from Production & Management participate. These provide essential knowledge in areas such as funding, marketing and law to professionally set up your own artistic career.

Training languages

English and German
We support international participants but expect them to actively work on learning German.

  • Artistic curriculum vitae with contact details
  • A short letter of motivation in which you explain:
    • Why do you want to join the program
    • What goals do you pursue after graduation

Step 3

Personal conversation

After receiving your application, we will invite you to a personal interview - either on site or via video call.

Application fee

Participation in the application process costs 30€.
 The fee covers the jury's expenses and organizational preparation.
The fee will be charged in case of cancellation or no-show not refundable.
