overview

The dance education year is a profound, 10-month examination of dance and movement in theory and practice. As a specialized training institution in Berlin, we offer a professional environment that combines technical expertise with artistic research. Participants focus on contemporary dance, classical techniques, as well as improvisation and creation. The training is supplemented by insights into other dance-technical and dance-theoretical areas to cover a broad physical and psychological spectrum. The program serves as a well-founded dance preparatory course or as a dance orientation year to sharpen one's own artistic identity. The year concludes with a professional stage performance, which presents both own work and choreographies by guest choreographers.

  • are between 17 and 47 years old

  • want to use dance on a sabbatical to deepen their physical practice.
  • aim for the transition from advanced hobby level to professional level.
  • want to build up a professional network within the Berlin dance scene.
  • have already danced intensively and now want to deepen their dance techniques.
