overview

The Physical Theatre Education Year is an intensive ten-month program for performers who want to fundamentally explore the expressive possibilities of the body. In our Physical Theatre in Berlin Marzahn program, we combine practical training with theoretical seminars to develop physical perception and an independent artistic language.

The curriculum covers a wide range of performance art: from mime, masquerade and clowning to object theatre, dance and voice work. We combine historical traditions with contemporary approaches and thus offer well-founded preparation for studying acting or a professional career in the performing arts.

Is it a fit?

This program is for people who:
  • are between 17 and 57 years old
  • want to explore unconventional forms of performance and find their own artistic language.
  • want to specifically prepare for entrance exams (schools for physical theatre, drama schools, performance courses...)
  • want to build up a professional network on the Berlin scene as young performers.
  • already have experience in theatre, dance, music or circus and would like to technically deepen their physical performance.
  • want to dedicate themselves intensively to artistic development for a year as career changers.
